NASHVILLE, Tenn. (THN News) - A much-needed round of rain is spreading across portions of Tennessee this afternoon, beginning a wetter and cooler weather pattern that will continue through the weekend.

MIDDLE TENNESSEE: The National Weather Service says scattered showers are developing today, with thunderstorms possible. Nashville has an 80% chance of precipitation, with a high near 88° and a low tonight around 65°.

Some thunderstorms could produce locally heavier downpours. NWS Nashville says on-and-off rainfall will continue through the weekend, with portions of southeastern Middle Tennessee potentially receiving more than an inch of rain.

A Flood Advisory is currently displayed for part of the NWS Nashville forecast area, so residents should monitor location-specific alerts.

WEST TENNESSEE: Memphis and surrounding communities are seeing the state's highest rain probabilities today. Repeated rainfall could produce isolated flooding this weekend, although the agency's current Hazardous Weather Outlook says no hazardous weather is expected today or tonight.
