There Is Hope In Austin

AUSTIN, Tx. (THN News) - The Game of the Week between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Texas Longhorns did not disappoint America. What started to look like a once again lopsided performance by the Longhorns turned out to be one of the greatest comebacks this nation has seen this early into a new college football season.

Ohio State came out the gate looking like the more talented, prepared team coming into the game. Quarterback Julian Sayn for the Buckeyes was showing his chemistry with all American wide receiver Jeremiah Smith early on in the game as the two connected with half on their stats in the first half.

Sayin finished the game by going 17/32 passing, 278 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 INT respectively while Smith had 8 rec for 164 yards and 1 touchdown. And with the score going into halftime being 20-3 the real story started in the 2nd half.

Archie Manning and the Longhorns never gave up during the game in which two crucial 4th down conversions proved the difference in head coach Sark Sarkisian, having multiple people questioned his coaching last week to him now looking like a genius Sunday morning.

The Longhorns leaned on their running game from their two portal pickups in Hollywood Smothers and Raleek Brown who gave Texas the perfect 1-2 combo as they cut the lead to 23-17 with 4 minutes to go in the 4th quarter.

Archie Manning led a beautiful go ahead touchdown drive that ended with a Hollywood Smothers touchdown and most importantly, only left Ohio State with 15 seconds left in the game which proved to be a big deal.

In the end it came down to Ohio State giving up a big lead, forcing Jeremiah Smith the ball in which he had a lot of big 2nd half drops; and the field goal kicking seems to still be haunting Ohio State's team during these crunch time hours.

But all glory and respect from this game will now turn to Archie Manning who finished with 23/37 passing with 195 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT and how his team will now navigate the rest of the year being the hunted, as they are now the championship favorites, since they have defeated the once unstoppable Ohio State. I cannot for next week.
