The Aftermath of the Ole Miss vs LSU Game

OXFORD, Miss, (THN News) - The game we had been waiting for all week did not disappoint ladies and gentleman, in historic fashion, the return of Lane Kiffin to Ole Miss was something we won't forget anytime soon this year!

What looked to be a game getting out of hand as Ole Miss pulled out the gate with a 17-0 lead early on turned into what seem to be a 360 move in which LSU was making a monumental comeback on the road in Oxford, MS.

Trinidad Chambliss started the game hot, scoring two touchdowns earlier in the game, leading a very important touchdown drive before the half with the score being 24-7 in their favor going into halftime.

However, it seemed like LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker made some much needed adjustments and LSU defense came up big with an interception that helped their QB Sam Levitt complete the comeback tying the game up at 24-24 headed into the 4th quarter.

But at the end of the day, it was the Ole Miss faithful Trinidad Chambliss who turned out to be the star of the evening, who ran a go ahead touchdown for Ole Miss, then backed it up with a gutsy 2 point conversion putting the lead at 32-24 going deep into the 4th quarter.

Same Levitt backyard QB play help march LSU down the field in what looked to be a drive in which they would score to tie up the lead, but Leavitt ended up throwing a costly interception that ended the game.

Leavitt finished 16/27 for 158 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception respectively.

Chambliss however finished the game going for 33/48 for 363 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interceptions, making it his 10th game in his short Ole Miss career in which he has thrown for 300 plus yards tying Eli Manning's record.

Look for Trinidad to be atop the Heisman list after a performance this weekend. However, the season is not over & a lot of good football is still left to be played.
