Tennessee State vs Jackson State: Game of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (THN News) - TSU vs JSU kicked off College football  in the historic John Merritt Classic with over 32,000 fans & it was everything you dreamed of.

The fans was super lit. TSU honored its Hall of Fame. And what happens when two of the biggest HBCU’s comes together, you obviously get this.

Not to mention you had the marching bands! You had TSU President in good spirits on the sidelines; and we had our Tennessee State Little Tiger Cheerleaders cheering their little hearts out keeping the energy high.

Which is obviously what was pumping in JJ’s vein as JSU Jabari Jones struck first with an 88 yard TD pass from QB Jared Lockhart. 

Then TSU countered with a touchdown from BP, Brenton Paul 9yd touchdown run. 

Then all the momentum switched to TSU bc my dawg D Lee was feeling himself. 6:49 seconds before the half QB Daylin Lee powered up and ran right into the endzone for another TSU touchdown making it 14-7.

Then a pair of field goals from both teams took the game 17-10 with TSU up by a TD going into the half. 

TSU Had ballers. My dawg Daylin Lee was in his bag with 265 passing yards & 2 TD. JG was the leading receiver of the game. Jayden Guy had 148 receiving yards

Jaylon Price had a half a sack and B. Hale was absolutely hell. Brendan Hale led the game with the most tackles 10 tackles that’s including 4 big boy solo tackles. 

And one of the best ballers in college football, Brenton Paul was the OVC Rookie Player of the week. Of course. What do you expect?

Now doing the half things got litty as the number one marching band in the country took the field led by my boy Drum Major Jared Coleman.

But not to be outdone, you had TSU drum majors acting a donkey in my Boosie voice! Then the dancers dancing on Mars and the band was  keeping the big blue in nothing but good vibes top that with an incredible light show.

But the good times don’t last long as the multiple national champion, thee goat, Coach TC Taylor came out of half time locked in and it showed. 

JSU showed there natural nevermind, but they without questions had some elite ballers!

Jared Lockhart 222 passing yards and a touchdown. My dawg Nate Blount IV was toting that tater like a grown man  with over 100 rushing yards.

Jabari Jones  was on Pluto with 117 receiving yards. Keith Bass had a sack. Mr. Nasty aka Kam Sallis 7 tackles including 3 grown man solo tackles!

JSU was literally unstoppable and on fire in the 3rd!

In the third quarter alone JSU had 13 unanswered points including a beautiful TD from Emari Matthews.

However, it wasn’t enough, Quarterback Daylin Lee Was looking like NFL qb when he through a beautiful 5 yard touchdown pass to P3, Francisco Pratts the 3rd, keeping TSU alive and 1 point about JSU. 

JSU responded with a field goal to take the lead with the score being JSU 26-24

But once again, the energy had shifted back to TSU with seconds on the clock & everybody in America knew that although the Jackson State Tigers were still hungry walking to and fro seeking whom they may devour, on 4 & 17, TSU kicks a field goal and wins the game.

Theeeee Jackson State WINS THE GAME. JSU wins the John Merit Classic 

My dawg JJ Jabari Jones won offensive MVP and non other than Mr. Nasty himself my dawg Kam Sallis won defensive MVP.
