Milton Hands BGA First Loss of Season

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (THN News) — Battle Ground Academy took its first loss of the season Friday, falling 42-21 to the Milton Eagles in a matchup of highly elite high school stars from Tennessee and Georgia. Milton led 35-14 by halftime and kept control from there.
Friday's victory gives Milton its second straight win.
Over those two victories, Milton has averaged 47.5 points per game, showing the offensive pace that made the Eagles a difficult opponent for BGA.
Despite the lost, BGA had production from Fletcher Fields, who rushed for 99 yards on 10 carries. He also caught one touchdown pass.
That effort helped the Wildcats put points on the board, but Milton’s first-half advantage proved too large to overcome.

The loss dropped Battle Ground Academy to 3-1 after opening the season unbeaten. Milton also stands at 3-1 after the road win.
Milton will next face Johns Creek at 7:30 p.m. on the 25th. BGA returns the same night against Franklin Road Academy at 7:00 p.m. for perhaps one of the biggest rivalry games in Tennessee.
