However, over the final three minutes of the quarter, WCU settled back in, battling their way back to a one-point lead on a Blakeney jumper with Leah Sutton scoring the final basket to give Carey a 31-28 lead at the break.

The game went back and forth to open the third quarter with the game eventually being tied at forty with three minutes left. After converting one of two free throws, Carey's Daydria Cueves, Addyson Sherer, and Ladner closed the quarter on an 8-0 run to give the Lady Crusaders a 48-40 lead.

Sherer opened the fourth with a three pointer to make it a twelve-point advantage. From there WCU extended their lead to nineteen with under six to play and never looked back, cruising to a 79-63 victory.
