
The community witness violent on Main Street in the middle of the day in Downtown Hattiesburg. According to witnesses and neighbors, a white man was riding on his bike when a white Altima pulled up and shot the victim approximately 4 times.

The police swarm the area, temporarily causing traffic delays in downtown. The victim who neighbors thought was killed is alive with non-threaten life wounds. Cameras caught the violence and local law enforcement released the following statement:
CALL FOR INFORMATION: On Thursday, July 25, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Hattiesburg Police responded to a call of a shooting at the intersection of Main Street and E. 8th Street.
When officers arrived, they discovered a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for his injuries, which are reported to be non-life threatening.
Upon further investigation, officers have identified a vehicle, a white Nissan Altima, and two persons of interest (pictured below). Keon Ray Shawn Griffin, 25, and Jasna Nicole Wright, 27, of Hattiesburg, are both wanted for questioning in connection to the shooting.
Preliminary investigation findings suggest this is an isolated incident, and there is no immediate threat to the public.
