JACKSON, Miss (THN News) -Jackson State University is entering a new athletic chapter after the departure of Vice President and Director of Athletics Ashley Robinson, a Jackson native whose tenure lined up with one of the most visible stretches in the Tigers’ modern sports history.
Robinson has left Jackson State, according to a WLBT report. On Wednesday, the Texas Southern Board of Regents reportedly approved Robinson for the athletic director position at Texas Southern. Multiple JSU coaches also posted farewell messages to Robinson on social media, signaling the end of a long run in charge of the Tigers’ athletic department.
Alyse Wells-Killbert will serve as Jackson State’s interim vice president and director of athletics.
