Are There Any Witnesses: Donivan Barnes Family Is Asking For Help?

HATTIESBURG, Miss (THN News) Donivan Barnes was a young 25 year old black man that was killed in a hit and run on Friday, October 6, 2023, on Westover Drive in Hattiesburg, MS.

3 weeks later local law enforcement arrested Andrew David Cook, a 23 year old white man, who admitted he had a car wreck but was never indicted for the crime.

The grand jury said they didn't have enough evidence.

The evidence they did have included suspect Andrew's confession, Donivan's blood on Andrew's truck, & his damaged truck among other evidence.

The Mississippi Attorney General Office has been asked to take over the case by the local district attorney's office.

While Donivan's family is waiting for justice, they are also making a huge plea. Anyone who has seen anything or anyone who may know anything, please reach out.
